A whale-watching site for the São Paulo north coast, built for search from the first decision. Design and build both mine.
Why search decided the build
Humpback whale season on that coast is short, and the people who go looking for a trip are searching for it on the day they decide. A site that is not found in that window does not get a second chance until next season.
That made search visibility the brief rather than an afterthought, and it is what chose the tooling.
What I built it with
Astro, for static pages that arrive as HTML instead of being assembled in the browser. A crawler reads the content on the first byte, and so does a visitor on a phone with one bar of signal on the coast — which is where a good part of this audience actually is.
The design is mine as well: I did the layout and the visual direction, not only the code.
The result
Delivered with 100 across all four Lighthouse categories — performance, accessibility, best practices and SEO.
