Hi, I'm Lucas.
I've been a software engineer for six years building web applications end to end — Vue on the front, Laravel and MongoDB underneath — for multiple teams around the world.
A bit more about me
I started in 2020 and have worked across client agencies, a fully digital HR platform, and product teams in the United States. These days I'm at Animals First in New York, building and maintaining the systems that animal shelters use every day.
I care more about understanding why something works than about shipping it fast. I read the code I ship, I review the code I'm handed, and I'd rather ask one more question than guess. Most of my work is backend-leaning full stack — Vue where the user is, Laravel and MongoDB where the data is.

Per-customer date formats in a multi-tenant SaaS
Every customer saw dates in one country's convention, and half of them were reading operational records that could be off by months.

The shelter management platform that rescues, shelters and animal control teams run on. I work across the whole product, full-stack.
A desktop timer for switching between standing, sitting and breaks while you work — the flip cube on my desk, rebuilt as an app. Linux, Windows and macOS.
My own company's site — the one this design system came out of.
A whale-watching site for the São Paulo north coast, built for search from the first decision. Design and build both mine.
A JAMstack portfolio for an architecture studio. Old work, and the studio's site is gone — I keep it because the design still holds up.
